The system is designed for the construction and installation of light curtain walls – flat hang-fill walls as well as roofs, skylights and other constructions. This solution is a modified version of a very popular façade system MB-SR50 which meets the present trends in architecture.
The shape of posts and beams allows for the construction of nice-looking façades with visible narrow division-lines and ensures the structure longevity and strength. The profile rounding radius of 2.5 mm – typical of MB-SR50 system – has been replaced by the so called sharp edge in MB-SR50N. This significantly improves the construction aesthetics as the applied profiles enable such a selection of posts and beams that an effect of flushed posts and beams on the indoor surface is achieved. That is why the glazing build-up can look as a uniform truss. This also facilitates the façade’s aesthetic and accurate connection to other build-up elements such as: internal walls and false ceilings.
Other characteristic features of MB-SR50N are: a wide choice of post profiles (from 65 mm to 325 mm) and beam profiles (from 5 mm to 189.5 mm) and new solutions of the accessories and fittings. They allow to increase the loads to be borne – the fixed infill mass can be up to 450 kg. This system gives a great deal of leeway in the design of the façade fixing points. The wide range of glazing allows for the use of large-size panes and also triple-glazed panels.
Application of continuous thermal spacer made of HPVC insulant and profiled pane seal made of EPDM results in the suitable thermal insulation performance and reduces the vapour condensation on the aluminium elements to the minimum.
There are aesthetical variations of MB-SR50N system (similarly to the previously known post-and-beam façades): PL – the so called horizontal and vertical lines where horizontal or vertical divisions are emphasized, and EFEKT – semi-structural façade. Another version worth special attention is MB-SR50N HI – with higher thermal insulating performance, where special twin-component insulators.
